In addition to our twenty-five years of experience providing services to the railroad, MER is an active port contractor, whose services support intermodal transportation needs, including; load transfers, derailment response, product reclamation, spill cleanup and bulk transfers. MER personnel are compliant with Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) training, in addition to maintaining all required basic 8 environmental certifications. MER dedicates the highest level of executive management to overseeing the delivery of services to these key clients. Our program managers build their careers working within rail yards and along the Right of Way.

Additionally, MER subsidiary Drummac has been providing specialized services to the passenger railroad industry since 1974. Drummac brings a demonstrated commitment to service, safety, and integrity to every job. We supply our clients with a capable staff that includes the industry's best rail technicians, supervisory personnel with the technical and management skills our clients demand, and qualified mechanical and janitorial personnel.

Training & Certification

To meet and exceed our clients' requirements, Drummac personnel receive ongoing safety and OSHA training. As appropriate, our personnel also receive additional specific training including FDA, EPA, and in-house requirements. In addition:

  • We maintain applicable certifications of an adequate number of employees to perform air brake inspections and operate in accordance with blue flag requirements.
  • We meet all applicable requirements as set forth in 49 CFR 238. Drummac is an industry leader in the certification of mechanical personnel in accordance with these regulations.
