Position: Account Manager
The Account Manager is responsible for the sale of the MER’s four core service lines (Emergency Response, Industrial and Marine Services, Facility Decontamination, and Site Remediation) to prospective and existing Key/Base and Local accounts. JOB SUMMARY:

The Account Manager is responsible for the sale of the MER’s four core service lines (Emergency Response, Industrial and Marine Services, Facility Decontamination, and Site Remediation) to prospective and existing Key/Base and Local accounts.  They are responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities for new and expanded business and providing quality service to assigned accounts.

Job responsibilities:

  • Serves as a primary driver of the Resource Center Business Development Plan by having inherent knowledge of local account strategies and participating in the development and implementation of the sales plan
  • Develop a partnership and maintain close communications with Program Managers and Client Services Representative (CSR) that focuses on client relationships that exceed expectations and assure overall client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for completing next actions and follow-up items for the account sales plan for assigned accounts
  • Primary responsibility to respond to and capture new business from clients not previously assigned and work closely with Client Services Representative to support the sales effort
  • Works closely with Resource Center Management whenever a specific project is identified and qualified to pursue by assisting with sales contacts and “follow through” of project while emphasizing a team effort.
  • Responsible for identifying and executing client relationship projects for Resource Center such as target marketing mailings, personal client contact, etc.
  • Participates in the development of the annual budget as it pertains to sales revenues and expenses
  • May be required to develop and communicate work orders, including all supporting documentation
  • May be required to conduct site walks for the development of work scopes, job estimates and proposals.  Seek assistance and approval for jobs greater than $25,000.00
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         At least two years of environmental industry work experience and thorough understanding of MER core services

·         Strong communication (both written and verbal), analytical and persuasive skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of clients, employees and management

  • Must be multi-task oriented and have strong supervisory, time management, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • General working knowledge of OSHA 1910, 1915 and 1926 standards, DOT standards and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory standards.
  • General understanding of equipment capabilities and requirements of different types of jobs
  • Ability to serve as an outside representative of the company
  • Ability to work in a wide range of environments including those involving hazardous conditions which may require lifting or exerting force exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Must have appropriate licenses, in good standing and meet applicable MER and DOT driving requirements to operate company vehicles and equipment (documentation is required).
  • Ability to work in excess of regularly scheduled hours when necessary.
  • Ability to travel overnight as required by business needs.
  • Advancement or Promotion in the Operations Department will require participation and successfully completion continuing education training courses in occupational safety and environmental regulations as outlined by the MER employee development program including:

o        29 CFR 1910.120 OSHA 40 Hour Hazwoper and 8 Hour Annual Refresher

o        29 CFR 1910.147 OSHA Confined Space Training

o        29 CFR 1910.151 OSHA First Aid and CPR Certified

o        29 CFR 1910.1101 Asbestos Supervisor/Contractor and Annual Refresher (as applicable by field specialty)

o        33 CFR 154.710 USCG Person-In-Charge Training

o        49 CFR 172.704 DOT Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Training

o        49 CFR 214.343 FRA Roadway Worker On-track Safety Training

Education ReQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of five years of industry related Supervisory or equivalent experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
