Moran Environmental Recovery was called by the Massachusetts, DEP on Wednesday March 14th 2008, to respond to a vehicle accident where an oil-tanker rolled-over and spilled its cargo of #2 residential fuel oil. An estimated 3,500 gallons of the tankers 4,000 gallon load were spilled from the ruptured portions of the tank onto roadways and into a neighboring marsh.
MER deployed two vacuum trucks, 12 response personnel, and our MEMT (Moran Emergency Response Team) emergency response trailer to assist in the clean-up. Local DEP, Police, and Fire authorities were on-site and worked to containerize the release to minimize adverse impact to the environment.
