Moran Environmental Recovery (MER), and its subsidiaries, are committed to operating in an environmentally responsible manner in all aspects of our business, and we strive to engage in sustainable practices whenever possible. In fact, at MER, the very nature of our work requires us to consistently seek to understand our impact on the environment. MER and its subsidiaries are committed to improving our business practices to:
- Contribute to the knowledge and understanding of environmental impacts
- Use resources responsibly and implement programs to support energy efficiency and conservation
- Continuously drive awareness of and implement ways to reduce our carbon footprint
- Encourage our clients and suppliers to engage in sustainable practices
MER is a Partner member of Green Marine, a voluntary environmental certification program for the North American marine industry. It is a rigorous, transparent, and inclusive initiative that addresses critical environmental issues through its 12 performance indicators. In 2019, we also became a member of the Green Business Bureau, which provides the framework and certification guiding the Company’s environmentally sustainable business practices and initiatives. Our businesses are tightly connected to the practice of sustainability as our day to day work focuses on waste recovery, coastal research and analysis, spill response, and beneficial reuse of hazardous waste.

Green Business Bureau
MER is proud to have recently been certified by the Green Business Bureau as an environmentally responsible business. MER reached the Green Gold tier by adopting principles and practices that demonstrate our superior commitment to conserving the environment.
The commitment to be a “green” business is an ongoing, transformative process. Our company’s reputation is increasingly held to higher standards and stakeholders are seeking businesses committed to sustainability. We believe our commitment to this certification will continue to positively influence our internal operations and externally our role in the global community. The Green Business Bureau seal recognizes our contribution to making the environment a healthier place for our customers, employees, and community.
