Moran Environmental Recovery, LLC (MER) Announces Mainstream Commercial Divers, Inc. to become MER Commercial Diving Division

Randolph, MA – Moran Environmental Recovery, LLC (MER) announces effective June 1, 2019, Mainstream Commercial Divers will be doing business as (“DBA”) MER Commercial Diving, under the Moran Environmental Recovery umbrella.

Five years ago, MER entered the commercial dive business through the acquisition of Eason Diving & Marine Contractors, Inc., headquartered in Charleston, SC. Subsequently, MER then acquired Mainstream Commercial Divers, Inc., in Murray, KY, and then in 2017, merged the former Eason name underneath the Mainstream brand. Since that time, Mainstream has continued to grow its reputation as one of the largest inland commercial diving contractors in the United States providing specialized services in underwater maintenance, inspection, and repair, as well as nuclear services and scientific habitat studies. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of MER, Mainstream has leveraged its ability to supplement its in-house capabilities with those of its parent company. In doing so, there have been a growing number of opportunities for the Mainstream team and the MER environmental, industrial and emergency response crews to work together on complex projects providing specialized services, and while doing so under a single company and point of contact. “The migration of the Mainstream name to now become branded as MER Commercial Diving is thus a natural next step in the evolution of our strategy. By doing so, we hope that it provides greater clarity and understanding for our client base as to the full range of services that MER offers,” said Brian House, President of Moran Environmental Recovery.

MER recently completed the acquisition of Global Diving & Salvage, headquartered in Seattle, WA. Global is a highly-recognized leader in the commercial dive sector and brings even greater scale and scope to MER’s existing commercial dive capabilities, especially in the areas of marine construction and casualty response services.  Although under the overall umbrella of MER’s Commercial Diving Service offerings, Global will continue to operate as an independent, wholly-owned subsidiary and retain its strong brand name.
